Joanna Kooistra

Hi! I’m Joanna. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis & Therapy from SIUC in 2007. I became a BCBA in 2009 and licensed as a BCBA in the state of Wisconsin in 2019.

I received training through UCLA and subsequently was certified as a PEERS(c) therapist in 2020. I have worked with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, as well as ADHD, acquired brain injury, anxiety disorders, learning disabilities, and severe behavior disorders since 2003.

I have experience applying ABA in a variety of settings including: private therapeutic day schools, therapy centers, child and adult residential programs, home programs, community-integration programs, and behavioral health hospitals. 

Throughout my diverse experiences, it has become evident that the key factor to a child’s success is directly linked to their motivation and access to make learning fun! Assessing children’s unique strengths, identifying their preferences, and developing individualized therapy plans has become my passion. I look forward to meeting you and your family soon!
